If you’re like me you enjoy nothing more than adding local seasonal food to the Thanksgiving table. We are lucky to live in an area abundant with options.
Think about adding some fresh cheese or butter to the table (great for getting that wonderful colour on the outside of the turkey). Check out Cheesecrafters where they make their own selections of Jersey Blue (my personal favourite), Havarti, Cheddar, Brie and more. Your kids can watch through the window as they make the cheese while you do the shopping.
Need some fresh cranberries? Hopcott’s Farm is having their annual Cranberry day on Oct. 10 where you can taste the cranberry products, tour the bog and of course purchase cranberries in bulk or in bags…they also have lot’s of activities for kids.
The Haney Farmers Market is also on this weekend with a great selection of pumpkins, apples, pies, wine and brussel sprouts. Come on down to Memorial Peace Park between 9-2 on Saturday. I recommend getting there earlier in the day for the best selection.
Other options for fresh treats for the table can be found on the circle farm brochure…
Enjoy your shopping and I wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends.
